In a traditional setup, a supplier would send one invoice to a company's global HQ. Then the financial controller of the organisation would have to break down and reallocate the costs to their local subsidiaries and business units.
Gelato gives you the possibility to choose whether to have the invoices sent to your HQ or to the different local offices you have around the globe.
The latter option is possible using the billing entity set up in your Gelato account. Currently, Gelato offers local billing entities in several countries (see below). Because of limitations by local governance rules, Brazil, India, China, Chile, Japan and Russia need locally-managed invoicing, meaning the invoice might not come from Gelato AS (Norway).
Note: The total price of an order, in the selected currency, will be the same amount Gelato is billing to the selected Billing Entity. This means, there is no price conversion, the amount and currency selected while placing the order will be what is invoiced.
