VAT on cross border transactions within EU

In order to ensure great quality, fast delivery, and thorough geographic coverage Gelato will sometimes send printed materials from one EU country to another EU country. If a valid EU VAT ID is provided with your billing address in Gelato Globe, then such supplies are treated as intra-community sales and are subject to zero- rated VAT. Please note that the VAT ID can’t be registered in the country where we ship the printed materials from. Gelato mainly prints materials in Germany for intra-community sales, but it can also be printed in EU countries (for example we allow local billing in Turkey with local VAT rules applied for orders shipped across border by Gelato)

Your VAT ID should be in the official VAT identification number format explained:

If no valid EU VAT ID is provided with your billing address in Gelato Globe, we will charge VAT in the delivery country where Gelato is VAT registered.
